16 carrier suture braiding machine

Suture braiding machine from Cobra are able to braid the following physical sizes:

Minimum: EP metric size 0.5 or USP Size 7/0 or Standard Diamter 0.050 - 0.069 mm

Maximum: EP metric size 8 or USP size 6 or Standard diameter 0.8 - 0.899 mm

The picture illustrates the set up of a twin head 16 carrier machine.

The machine is capable of handling silk, PGA or polyester yarn

The yarn is crosswound onto plastic tubes.

Crosswinding is used to eliminates the risk of yarn trapping. Yarn trapping arises with plastic flanged bobbins and is a common risk with fine yarns.

Plastic flanged bobbins can be used if required.

The machine speed per head is 600 picks per minute. So for a twin head machine the production rate is 600 x 2 = 1200 picks per minute.
